She's Taylor Made For You! 5 Q's with Taylor Swift!
Could this girl get any cooler? Not only did Taylor Swift take a few minutes to talk to us, but the amazing and talented country star also greeted us with the biggest hug!! Awww!
Taylor has swiftly flown to the top of the country charts and now that she's collaborating with l.e.i. for a line of country-inspired sundresses, skinnies, and prairie skirts, she's making major fashion headlines! AlloyGirl is officially her biggest fan!
We got a sneak-peek at the line on Wednesday and we've gotta say: it's Taylor through and through. Romantic, easy-going, and totally country, there's lots of floral, bright colors, and fancy trims. The adorbs line will be available mid-Feb in Wal-mart stores and online. And get this: nothing in the line is priced over $20, so we can all get our hands on a Taylor-made piece!
After a look at the line, we sat down with the country girl and found out everything about her dreams, dresses and perfect tresses!
AlloyGirl: You have achieved so much success as a country star, and now you're a designer! Tell us if there's a philosophy we can adopt to have your kind of success! Taylor: I would say to always keep in mind that nothing is going to happen overnight. It's not like you're walking along and all of a sudden you find this magical treasure chest with your dreams inside it and they magically all come true! It's a process. When I was younger I had this misguided idea that if you play in front of the right person, you get discovered and it all happens because of that. But really, it's playing one show after another, after another, after another and meeting one person who then tells so-and-so about you who then tells his brother about you who then calls his uncle who's in the music business over here who tells his friend. It's a grassroots process for most people.
We know you are totally Fearless but did you ever get discouraged? What advice do you have for girls who are working hard to make their dreams come true? Don't get discouraged! I used to get a little frustrated that I'd hit a dead end. I felt like people just made it! And why wasn't I just making it? You don't just make it in a short amount of time. Sometimes it takes a lot of work and a lot of time. You should never feel like you're entitled to success just because you are. You're entitled to succeed or make it just because you want to work hard for it.
Yay! We love all that you've accomplished! Now tell us about the process of designing your dress line with l.e.i. Collaborating with l.e.i. was really fun because they were really accepting of my opinion and my style. And if I would say 'I wouldn't wear that,' they would respect that and they wouldn't have it in the line.
Where will you be wearing the sundresses? I'll wear the line on my days off or around the days of the [upcoming headlining summer]tour. You know, while hanging around festivals and hanging out around the busses and just all the things I do around the summertime, like going on the boat and all that stuff.
You totally keep your curls in control. How do you do it? I've been experimenting with my hair lately - tighter curls, looser curls, parting it one way or another. I've been changing it up. When I get out of the shower, I don't put in product, I just let it air dry and I do it while I'm still up. So much better than it being pressed up against a pillow. Then you'll have a bad hair day no matter what. Wrap your curl around the barrel of the curling iron instead of twisting and turning it. I curl all in one direction and I take it towards the back of my head instead of forward.
We can't wait to see you at the Grammy's on Sunday! You have the best dresses! I think I'll be wearing a full length gown this time, but we'll see!
