5 Q's with Bobbi Brown!
She's a legend in her time; the founder of a makeup empire that, through the last three decades has made her name immediately resonate with amazing makeup (not bad 80's pop songs). Bobbi Brown, like her makeup, is timeless! And on the brink of launching her latest book, Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual, we got a second to pick Bobbi's brain on the key to teen makeup.
Who have been some of your favorite faces to work with?
Hilary Duff. I recently did her makeup for the Heart Truth Red Dress Show during New York Fashion Week. She is absolutely beautiful and radiates confidence.
What are the five most important tips you can give us about applying makeup?
1. When applying makeup, keep it simple.
2. Ask yourself if you feel good during and after applying makeup. A great beauty routine should never make you feel frustrated or badly about yourself at any point.
3. Remember that you most likely don?t need to put on a full face of foundation. Simply spot apply foundation or my Face Touch Up Stick wherever you need coverage, and blend.
4. Don?t be afraid to play around with bright colors or try new trends, but I recommend sticking with neutral soft shades for everyday makeup.
5. Take care of your skin: wear moisturizer with SPF every day, drink lots of water, and most importantly, don?t smoke!
What?s the worst mistake we can make with our makeup?
Don?t try to use makeup to distort or change your features. Instead, pick the features you love and play them up.
What defines beauty to you?
When you accept and feel good about who you are, that?s when you are at your most beautiful.
Do you have any advice for girls who may feel insecure or self conscious about their looks?
Remember, you?re not alone - all teens go through the same highs and lows. If you learn to love the qualities that make you who you are, your real beauty will come through.
