The argument for skinny models is simple: Clothes look (well, they hang) better on a girl with no curves. Without a jutting hip, shoulder, or boob to interfere with a line, angle, or detail, designers can show off their goods and rake in the dough. It makes sense, right?!
But to loads of us who want to wear the clothes, these skinny models make us feel fat, even if we're perfectly happy and healthy. If clothes are designed for models, and not us (you know, you and me and all our fabulous imperfections), fashion becomes solely an art that is seen from afar, and not one that we can experience or express on our own bods.
But it looks like the fashion world's use of super skinnies is on the skimp. Case in point, the GORGEOUS Ford Model, Crystal Renn. She's 23 and has been on the cover of loads of glossies and is now authoring a witty memoir called Hungry. She started her career at 14, and lost loads of weight only to get super sick. She gained it back to be a size 12 and her beauty totally radiates!
